went to start the car this morning and nowt!

battery as flat as a pancake

just used her last night to go to that Durham lumiere (like everyone else in a 100 mile area by the amount of people there) but wouldn't even push start (we just could get enough momentum)

any idea where around here I can get a battery? And that I can get to by bus

where abouts in Durham mate?
I live in Brandon so if it's not too far I can pick u up and take you to LTA in Langley Moor for the battery, they do stock them.
Depending on what warranty period you want has a bearing on the price 2-3 yr is around the £55-£75 mark... Got heavy duty leads too if needed & LTA will do a free alternator charge and battery state check.

BTW have you had any bulb out warnings come on the rev counter?

No problem Andy, just sorry to realise it was the alternator not charging....
On the upside though, as you well know..... Once a battery gets to that state the plates start to buckle and no matter how well the alternator did charge, it wouldn't have made a difference
You have peace of mind that once the alternator is done, it will be perfect for a few years yet
