BEWARE AGAIN!!! A66 Speed Restriction.

It has been changed again today.

Extended further eastwards on the westbound carriageway. It now begins well in advance of the speed camera and before the Elton west junction so no doubt they'll be using mobile scamera vans at times at that location.

Thanks for the warning;

Stick to 50mph anywhere near the restrictions and you wont go wrong. Obviously...

no it hasn't - and anyone who gets caught now deserves a slap AND a fine.

I use the road regularly, it's a temporary (minor) disruption and nothing more.

Absolutely right.

But anyone who was caught when the signage wasn't there can quite rightly and justifiably contest it.

Roadworks +i mmediate vicinity = 50mph, as a precautionary measure. It worked for me.

The 30mph restriction as you get to Darlo is a right pain in the arse too! Does anyone ever stick to it?

I did once and about half the population of Teesside overtook me. So I sped up.

Never seen a scamera on that section.

probably because it was dangerous in itself - if someone observed it there would be chaos

like when a Belgian turns up on the Autobahn

Re: BEWARE AGAIN!!! A66 Speed Restriction.

The 50mph speed restriction has now been fully removed from both carriageways at Longnewton and was removed sometime between 1.00pm 24/07/08 and 10.00am 25/07/08.

Just posting this in case anybody receives a ticket for doing between 50 and 70 after this time.
