The first ever Yorkshire Alfa Day will be held at The Yorkshire Air Museum in Elvington near York on Sunday 15th June.

Full details here

As Sunday 15th June is also Father's Day it's a perfect opportunity to bring the wives and bairns along too.

Update - Meeting Times & Places

I suggest we meet at The Talpore pub (TS17 6QB) overlooking The Tees Barrage at 9.00 - 9.15, have a leisurely cruise down the A19 and meet the Yorkshire & North West members at B&Q (YO10 3JA) just outside York at around 10.15 - 10.30.

At the recent Auto Italia event, we parked together and had a picnic/barbecue. I think it would be nice to do something similar again.

IMPORTANT – Barbecues will NOT be allowed!!

I’ve just been speaking to a guy at the air museum and have been told that barbecues will NOT be allowed as we’ll be parking in close proximity to the aircraft.

Re: Yorkshire Alfa Day

Hopefully we'll be able to park together and have a bit of a barbecue/picnic like we did at Auto Italia on Sunday.

Nice one! I can't decide which route we should take, A1 or A19.

I honestly never thought of that. What meeting point and route do you suggest?

From where to where? Through the Moors is probably the best route from Boro (ish) to York without using the A19 or the A1..

Re: Yorkshire Alfa Day

i was looking at moors too, but it means some people are going to be trekking from left to right etc.

similarly I was looking at a left to right to left trip to met up with the NW lot, but that won't please some

I'll post a couple of routes and see what people think

Re: Yorkshire Alfa Day

I think it would be best to take the direct route on this occasion.

Yorkshire Ian has asked if we could meet him and the rest of his members at B&Q just outside York at 10.30 so we can all drive in and park together.

IMO, it makes sense to travel down the A19 as most of the people who have replied ‘yes’ are from Aycliffe, Darlo or Stockton. We can also collect DXE Keith on the way down.

At the Auto Italia event last Sunday, we parked together and had a picnic/barbecue and I think it would be nice to do the same again.

I am really tempted to come along to this, but I can't take Mr PG and Son of PG in the Spider.

Will see what I can do.
