So, spare key used to work, has not for a while.

Took it to pieces, removed "PCB" turned it over and copper lines had breaks in them - bought a pen from Maplin that contains conductive paint. Spread the paint onto cardboard and used a broken toothpick to apply. It went all over the show so used isopropyl alochol to "rub it out" and then build it up and rub it out until it was as good as i could get it without crossing/fouling contacts with another printed bit.

Guess what, it only bloody worked!

Don't see why not mate. It's just tracing a line that will carry the electrical current, after all!

Dunno how well it you'll adhere to the glass but worth a shot. Can be gotten cheaper than Maplins, of course. But I was in town and thought "gotta get it NOW and
Try it".

If you get the rear screen working, get it tinted, or clear plastic coated, that'll stop the damage recurring.

On the broken key, get a well known, trusted key electrician to look at it. They aren't rocker science, but they are too hard for an amateur in most cases.
