Sounds great, were you at Brooklands on the ProAlfa stand?
Must sound even better with a 5 pot; I'm not convinced that getting rid of the CAT is a good idea as it may be technically illegal. I've ditched the first one (which is almost impossible to spot, but the second one is so obvious to a MoT tester.
I know you don't need it for emissions but it should be fitted, shouldn't it?
You can clear out the internals of a cat. No smoke because i presume his Egr is blanked, mine is blanked and ECU deleted and i get no smoke or soot. The egr recirculates the exhaust soot back into the combustion cycle.
Thats becasue its been mapped correctly rather than some crap tuning box for £50 whacked on it.
Not bad for a diesel. But it'll never sound like a petrol.
Its also missing two cylinders and their layouts incorrect. It should be in the shape of a V.
Still nice GT.
If I had a turbo car it would be all about the induction noise rather than the clatter of the diesel.
Must admit least fiat / Alfa / Lancia have a decent line up of diesels.
Think my fave is probably the 2.4 10v. But it would handle like a boat.
The front are hids direct ...very good service the rear number plate are from eBay from a Chinese company if you need the link I could a hunt for you
I havent called about the car yet, i run a shopping centre so you can imagine what i have to deal with this time of year  i will be getting loads of upgrades done next year but the exhaust is the first project as just noticed my rear silencer is rotten.
The centre box on my 20v was a cat. It isn't any longer!
OP might like to know that if his rear box looks rotten it may only be the outer of two skins which is duff. As long as it doesn't leak it will pass an honest MOT.
The dreaded air filter question, i have noticed in my engine bay a k&n filter sticker. I haven't investigated the filter box yet but if theres one in there is it worth keeping?
Apparently the EU is moving to get diesels checked now for cat/particulate filter internals checked as part of MOT ... so having a hollow unit may not be an option for much longer ... on any car!
Most folks know that Cats are part of the MOT, but as from March 2014 so are DPF's.
If your car should have one and it hasn't, it's going to be an MOT failure.
