Hi

I have a question relating to the alarm on my 07 GT

The other week the alarm went off at 4.30am and, after making myself decent to investigate tried to turn the alarm off using the keyfob ........ nothing. The alarm continued to go off.

Tried several times with no success.

Openerd and closed all the doors and bonnet but still no silencing the alarm

Started the car several times but still the alarm sounded until after a few minutes it just turned itself off.

Now the key fob still locks and unlocks the car but I do not get the one / two beeps from the car like when the alarm was activated / deactivated.

Didn't look at the lock LED when it happened so don't know if there are any diagnostic signs to look out for but I have noticed that when the car is now locked the indicators give one long flash followed by two short flashes - does this mean anything?

I have heard mention of transmitters / receivers but is there a way of diagnosing this problem or do I need to start replacing parts until the alarm works again

Any of you folks recommend what I do from here?

Thanks

Currently having exactly the same problems with my 05 GT... went off in the night, couldn't turn it off, drove around for a while (in my undies) until eventually it stopped.

Same thing with the long indicator flash followed by two shorter ones.
The beeps stopped about 18 months ago for no apparent reason but only started working again few weeks back. They stopped again until the night the alarm went off whereafter they sounded again as normal. Currently they're not sounding and so the saga continues.
Now the Cruise control isn't working.... Is this related?

Very interested to hear anyones insight as of how to put these Alfa demons to bed!! Ta

Mcsf...

Ha, well I'm all for breaking records!!

So...

'Motor Control System Failure' has arrived!

I'm guessing the alarm issue is somewhat related to this new development:confused:
From what I've read about 'MCSF' it would appear there are various symptoms to trigger it.
As for mine, the car still runs sweet and has no obvious faults; other than the MCSF alert every time I start the car; that and the silent alarm enabling/disabling mentioned earlier.

Firstly, will MOT have any problem with this alert on start up? It's due in January.
Secondly, what possible solutions should I be looking at to sort the problem?

Thanks
