For a long time I have wanted a Alfa and I wanted a GT. Today I finally purchased one.
I gave it a good test drive and it has good service history.
But on my way home from picking her up I went over a speed bump a bit too fast. I didnt see it (Blinded my its inner beauty) I was slowing down for all the other bumps on the way but this one caught me. I was told about bumps and these engines are low down.
Anyway now I am hearing a rattle noise when I go over little bumps/uneven ground. Have I done damage already to her or maybe it was there before but It is quite noticeable so I think I would have picked it up before hand.
Any help, what's the worst I could have done. I dont want a big expensive bill at the service centre only just picking her up today.
Sounds Like you have caught the under tray, it's quite common to find the original clips fall out or go missing, have a look underneath to see if there is any visible damage
If you can't find anything obvious post in here there are plenty of us willing to help
Hi, thanks for the quick reply. Had a look. The undertray looks like it is fixed properly. Can't see any missing clips or screws. Nothing looks like it's hanging off.
Its not under acceleration but on bumpy road surfaces.
Also took it for a quick drive there and I did get a warning about water in something and glow plug. It went very fast so didnt catch it all but it went and cant seam to find it again.
The water in oil filter light just came up once and haven't seen it again. Went for more driving this evening, it seams to be getting worse the rattling.
Will look further into the drop link. Is it a easy job to do yourselve or best to bring it in. Cheers
And now that you're here: allow me to draw your attention to the Folding at Home initiative some of us AO'ers are involved in. Maybe you can spare us a few CPU cycles
Whatever you do: enjoy your stay!
