I've recently bought a pristine 1996 GTV and have just discovered the wiper blades are splitting. Can I replace the rubber blades themselves or do I have to buy complete arms as advised by my friendly alfa dealer at £40 per arm? All advice gratefully received!!

:p You can easily fit the "cut to length" refills from Halfords etc,I done mine last week at a cost of 15 minutes and £6.99.
;) They work fine too.......don't let folk tell you that "triple edged, carbon impregnated sillicone rubber (with fruit liposomes n'all) blades" are needed

Alfa dealer in Edinburgh charged me £18 for the pair, for a 96 Spider.Might be worth phoning a couple of other dealers.Be careful when you re-fit the plastic washer jet rod(non technical term! :D )The plastic clips that hold it on seemed very fragile when I fitted mine.Hope this helps

Yes, the plastic clips are quite fragile. Make sure you take a good look at how they fit onto the blade with the 'washer jet rod' (nice description!) before you take them off.

I took mine off then couldn't figure out how to put them back on, and broke one in the process.

I've had exactly the same problem. The clips are EXTREMELY fragile, I broke one with the brush at the local Jetwash!

Just be careful...

I got the GTV champion blade set from S4P for about £12 plus delivery about a month ago!

You can't be too hard on the dealers. They've got their prices set by Alfa so there's not much they can do about it. The biggest fault seems that the parts assistant can never find the blade rubbers, just the whole arm assembly.
