Hmmm - not seen these....Magneti Marelli are reputable enough, OE suppliers to Alfa over the years, and the price is good.

I think you should be the guinea pig for us....:cheese:

alfa runs a bosch system so use bosch and check it is ya MAF disconnect it and drive and see if running improves
but get your fault codes read as it could be lambda problem or other sensors or just simple as an air leak betwween throttle body and maf,so never point finger untill you have it diagnosed properly

go for the bosch one....other mafs seem to cause problems on some cars...others run them fine
bought a chinese made maf for my 1.6TS....did not work good.had to buy a bosch one....

I read on this forum a bosch sensor from a vauxhall is the same code as used on some Alfa's
The popular F00C2G2030 used on the Twinspark is also used on Vauxhalls 2.0ltr dti Vectra (Bosch), but costs
only £55-00, fit this part into existing sensor ducting and save a small fortune,(originally posted by Prof Peach).
Check out http://www.vauxhallworldparts.com/va...umber=93171356 this link exists but i can't get it to work, there is a thread somewhere on this subject.

sorry for the offtopic guys, but I'm trying to find which is te correct MAF for a 2.4JTD 20V engine(841G(M).000) and it doesn't seem to be listed in any catalogue...any suggestions?

A Marelli unit from Webcon will be fine for your car but as someone else said, there may be another fault on your car to cause the symptom, how old is the MAF on your car? I have found that MAF's are almost a consumable part, just like spark plugs. My advice is to have the ECU checked for fault codes and then check the MAF and 02 sensor in live data or, preferably, with an oscilloscope.

Hi Satanism, just read on maf data base on this forum, Bosch 0281002598, alfa part 0046824377,
sensor number F00C2G2 063 for 2.4 20V 156/ 166 is available at Maf meter, sensing insert, Meat & Doria
Bosch insert to directly replace old sensor reusing existing housing unit.
Or try Worldcarparts.co.uk is a bosch sensor apparently fitted to vauxhall astra 1.7dti, £93 delivered, will fit directly to2.4 20V maf housing.
Vauxhall part no; 0281002549
Just saw astra combo corsa tigra airflow meter 0281002549 £57-58 total worldcarparts.co.uk

its supposed to behave a bit worse than with the MAF plugged because it uses standart values to replace the missing info but it should run perfectly ok.if it runs better without the MAF, then the maf is not working correctly.

 most probably its only pulling out, no unscrewing.
Was in the same situation as you today as failed to actually spot the MAF when I tried to do the disconnect it for a test run :D

But you aren't creating an air-leak or stopping the air-filter working ... simply disconnecting the wiring .... so the ecu can't measure the airflow or the incoming air temp ... and it;s only temporary ...

the engine management light will come on and it may be harder to idle, but there shouldn't be any flat spots during acceleration and it should rev freely to the red line. I dying/dead MAF normall causes a massive flat spot around 4K revs ...

When you've tested it, switch of the ignition, plug the MAF wiring back in and restart .. the Engine light will go out, if not immediately, soon after.

Done the test today. No engine management light coming on.And my MAF is f*cked up...haven't got the flatspots between 2 and 3k with it being disconnected
its a proper pain in behind to disconnect it though on the 2.4jtdm 20v

Right then time to try and find a maf sensor

Looking at my egr valve it has being replaced once. As the production date is 04/11 and also has a blanking plate in place.

Will try disconnecting the maf this morning and see what happens

Have a read of the following thread:

www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-147-156-and-gt/201188-156-v6-maf-suprise-please-read.html

Having recently done the MAF on a JTS I read through a lot of the MAF related stuff on here. There seems to be an overwhelming consensus that only Bosch stuff will do. Many stories of non-Bosch items not working.

You should be able to find JUST the sensor alone (i.e., not the entire MAF assembly) for less than £100 once you have read through that thread. Invest in a small metal file and you can file down the edges of the "tamperproof" :lol:screws to make two flat sides and spanner them off quite easily to remove the sensor from the housing.
