Did you remove and grease the upper wishbone bushes and refit before fitting the wishbone itself?

Did you check the condition of the anti roll bar drop links before removing the bottom ball joint on them in order to lift the anti roll bar to make room to install the bottom wishbones?

Squeaky upper wishbone bushes on accelerating and braking= no grease, very rare they are pre greased.

Knocking on uneven surfaces= worn drop link ball joint, removal and chewing on with trying to clamp the ball joint to get the nut off can damage them.

I just hope you put the long upper wishbone bolt head towards the rear of the car and not towards the front coil spring like OE factory fitment. Or you will have to strip the strut down to get the bushes out to grease them.
If you reversed the bolt, it will take 15 minutes to remove the bushes, grease them and refit... And without even having to remove the wishbone from the hub arm ball joint either;)

Before you have a face plant moment... Doh!
Spray lots of silicone lubricant over the bush area on the upper wishbones to see if the squeak goes then you know that they do need greasing.
Disconnect the bottom drop link ball joint too and cable tie it up and see if the knocks stop... Then you know fir sure what the issues are;)

it was a new full set of wishbones upper and lower wishbones and new anti rollbar drop links .

(Squeaky upper wishbone bushes on accelerating and braking= no grease, very rare they are pre greased)

the bush was in the wishbone so what should i have greased ??
knocking seem only when braking slow and when you go to pull away .

Where did you get the bottom wishbones from mate? There has been some bad patterned ones mate from certain suppliers that knock right after fitting... Not the end of the world though, they often refund your money if it is a dodgy wishbone;)

AR bushes tend to rattle away if they are not gripping the bar
Hope this helps;)

Virtually back IN by hand mate, let the grease do the work. Then push the metal collar back into the bush;)

But you will have to drift them OUT of the wishbone.

carparts on eBay do a full set with a one year warranty mate if it is indeed the bottom arms defective causing the knock;)

I just had my ebay lower wishbones removed this week as they were knocking and loose immediately after fitting about 2 weeks ago. A very loud creak followed by a bang. The metal retainer by the rear bush is too soft and moves around freely if you put a screwdriver into the gap you could see it was loose.

They were from a to z spares on ebay if you search on my previous posts or for knocking wishbones you should see my post.

As soon as I had some better ones put on the noise vanished completely.

Were yours from the same ebay seller?

Yep exactly that. It was ok once it was moving but like someone hitting the bulkhead with a hammer..if I had to describe it it would be a kunk kunk kunk sound when pulling away (worse if the wheel was turned which at first made me think it was a cv joint) and a creak and a thud when braking. Hope you like my sound effects:)

The seller for mine was a to z spares (vicky a2z) .

Yes as per the picture on the previous thread. The proper ones i have now don't do that. I priced up sending them back and it is going to cost me over £20. I have offered to send photos as I don't want to p*ss away any more money. I think they must know these are Duff stock by now. I think a phone call is in order.

The arms I bought to replace them were from shop4parts. They were advertised as being made by birth which I am told are ok. But when they arrived they were Magnetti Marelli who are one of the original alfa suppliers (owned by fiat) so whilst dear compared to ebay were something of a bargain compared to alfa dealer prices.

(I never did hear from alfarobinson where he got his. But see he had a blown engine afterwards so guess he has other things to sort out first.)

Contact the seller and inform them that you will be contacting eBay with regards to defective and dangerous parts.. Watch them offer a refund sharpish ... At the end of the day if a seller depend on reputation they should know by now if there is an issue with their own suppliers quality control. So if they continue to pass them on, then they deserve a kick up the backside...
That's what really annoys me about some eBay seller's, when they have the cheek to send you an email asking why you haven't left feedback yet!....
With regards to car parts it defeats the object leaving feedback until you know a part is reliable and actually fit, not that they were delivered a day early:rolleyes:

Some good traders out there though who are confident in what they sell;)

IMO no, not the bushes. The bushes are pressed tightly into the wishbone and are not designed to move in relation to the wishbone.

What you should do is push out the metal collar and grease, the wishbone and bush rotate around the collar. You'll find that new wishbones have some grease in there but manufacturers ain't very generous with it.

All the best
