I'm in the middle of a dispute with the bodyshop that is painting my Sprint. Basically, when it went in it was the typical silver that the Sprints were painted in the factory but it has now been painted gold. I asked for it to be kept the original colour so I'm now experiencing various emotions, annoyance being a recurring theme  They used the paint code on the understand of the bonnet AR 755/AF Grigio Nisida but I need to be sure this was the correct code in the first place. They are suggesting that the bonnet was off another car and the attached code incorrect for my car and not their fault. I disagree.
Please could any silver Sprint/Sud owners send me a pic along with their paint code so I may argue my case or otherwise?
Right.....there's been some progress this week as the bodyshop seem willing to respray my gold sprint silver! Can anyone out there recommend a company who can make up some AR 755 Grigio Nisida Met in the way it should be?
We use lechler in our body shop and they are Italian and good at matching old colours and can formulate most colours to 2k instead of water based rubbish
Too right. I think the main problem is the difference between Alfasud enthusiasts (us) and indifferent paint shops . We know how Suds/Sprints were in the 80's, paint shops think that anything silver like will do. Bottom line is that if it matches the original colour (in the engine bay for example) then it's the correct colour (in my case).
Thanks. Well the' cooling off' period of 2 months might have helped but I hinted that meeting him someway with the respray might be on the cards (begrudgingly).
At least if you agree on a colour from their chart - that should then be half the battle won. That way there should be no argument on the colour and things can move forward.
That rubbed down gold should make a nice base coat
I would get them to mix it whilst you are there, just before they are about to spray. You can dip in one of their wooden spatula thingys and get a really good feel for what colour it is going to be - then if you are happy tell them to get on with it.
I agree, new paint arrived today and tin opened, looks good. Just want it painted and delivered, it surely won't take too long to repaint but I assume nothing with this project ?
We seem to have struck a deal...the paint shop have agreed to respray my Sprint and I have agreed to pay for the paint along with a little cash bung. Paint arrived today and checked. The crucial point is that they do a quality job which means doors and hatch off again and I feel assured that they will...we'll see! ?
Thanks Alfasixnut, it's water pump and cambelts next whilst the front grill and bumper are off.
