As the title suggests, the n/s/f footwell is wet on my 156. The floor mat was soaking, as is the carpet underneath
I'm hoping this is the aircon drain pipe, as I noticed the problem last week whilst on holiday in Cornwall and the car was used everyday with the aircon on (it's normally used on weekends only)
For people who've experienced & fixed this fault before, can this be done on a level drive, or does it need to raised on a 2 post lift?
I did mine on a level drive on stands. Not too high though as I needed someone above with me below to finally get the new drain tube pshed in place. I butchered the rubber flap thingy to get the new tube on but I've had dry carpets ever since. Its a right b****r to get to on the 20V as its almost impossible to see it. You effectively have to work on feel. As a fellow 20V owner I can, however, assure you its possible whatever you might think. Make sure you have a well stocked first aid kit and a supply of towels to mop up all the blood. Changing bulbs might be bad but this is a whole lot worse
On a whim, I thought i'd lift the scuttle panel trim. The plenum chamber was swimming in water. The drain hole was CAKED full of crud. My bad
Having cleaned this out and pouring several watering cans full of water down, this is now clear. I shall do this more regulary. I took the wiper arms off and all the trim to clean the chamber. Next time, I shall only remove the trim on the n/s and no need to disturb the wiper arms
I noticed at the bottom of my drain hole that it seems to be far narrower than at the top. Is this normal?? I pushed the top of a narrow screwdriver down as far as possible to make it wider
