My 147 JTDm's cruise control hasn't worked since I bought it. When i turn the on/off switch the little green light on the dashboard comes on but if i turn and hold the +/- collar or press the resume button it doesn't hold a set speed at all. Does anyone know what could be wrong?? I hope its not the stalk because that looks to be replaced as a unit with the other column switches and that sounds expensive.
Sometimes, it's the switch under the pedal. The pedal, either clutch or brake, hasn't come up far enough to activate the cruise control switch. To eliminate these common faults, try using cruise and when actually activating it, gently put your foot under the clutch first, and push it up a little very gently. If not this, try the brake. 9 times out of 10, you'll find it is one of these. I thought I had a problem on my missus' 147, and night the stalk unit, which I still have and not used yet, as I was told to the elimination process first, which scored my problem. Let me know how you go on. If you do need the stalk, PM me.
I'll try that thanks. If i still need the stalks I'll definitely let you know. I'm away on business until friday morning but I'm definitely going to give it a try this weekend.
Have you had the split pin on the clutch pedal fail? That tends to stuff up the pedal switch, easy fix though.
