I'm having equal pipes and decat manifolds added to my v6 spider on Friday. I currently have a ragazzon centre pipe and quad exit. I also have the lightened 156 clutch mod.
I have a centre decat pipe in my garage. (should I fit this? I will be catless)
What power increase should I feel with all this equipment?
I have a cf3 engine. What additional increase would I feel after a remap? And finally... How much would a remap cost?
On this note I have a Cybox V6 Cf2 De-cat pipe if anyone is interested.
Only about 9 months old - was fitted while I sorted out a fueling problem that kept killing the cat.
Was quite loud fitted with only the middle silencer and Ragazzon rear pipe. Good though
I got them unused but 2nd hand from Denmark. The original owner got them from autotune. Yup they have slip on flanges.
Sorry no chance of a close up as getting them fitted tomorrow and all packed away ready for assembly.
The pipes and manifolds cost me £440 including postage. I think a bargain.
i have a friend who is powerflow dealer and done my front pipes and sports cat for 400 quid fitted the front section does make a fair bit difference in the revspicking up quicker
Mine is a cf3 so having the cats removed from the downpipes should hopefully make quite a difference along with the new downpipes.
It is being done now, looking forward to testing it out.
When people talk about the CF3 engine revving better without the front cats, does that actually affect in-gear acceleration, or just revving the engine in neutral?
Does anyone know what specifically alters the exhaust note? There's a few Scooby's near me and then sound like thunder from a hundred yards. What sort of system do they use to get that growl?
I'd love a stainless system but money won't allow it at the mo. I've made do with a cheap fix until money permits. (removed a silencer and ran a bespoke pipe to the backbox lol. It does make a difference but obvious not anything like the more expensive options)
Scuby has a blown boxer engine so different unnatural sound, a non balanced setup ie designed for max HP bragging rights will probably be a simple unrestrictive 3.5" down pipe to muffler affair maybe bigger. The sheer size will mean less pressure and a lower note
The picking up of revs after a gear change have been improved. I have a lightened flywheel also which I have run for a week before this mod. However there is now no dip in revs between gear changes. Noticeable difference to after the flywheel change.
It is loud though. Has a slight resonance between 2k and 3k revs. But seems to be reducing as the pipes bed in.
Remap is next but will have to wait until after my wedding next month.
I've had a hole in mine and its a great sound (even through a hole) but was driving me mad, I've just got the cats and the silencer where it goes in and comes out on the same side, slightly smaller than standard made by longlife.
I'm happy wth it, alot more dignified, but still louder than the standard system.
I bought my equal pipes and catless cf2 manifolds (modified to accept sensors) for £440 2nd hand but unused. Well worth the money I think.
