my 156 was stolen on saturday from rugby club thief came in changing room and stole my keys.will my insurance pay out changing room door wasnt locked cheers
I was with LV for both Home and car, until I got a better quote from Fluxdirect for the car. Anyway, have had a few claims, house breakins, and a written off car. Found no problems with them, argued a little about the car claim but got what I wanted in the end. Good luck, hope it goes well.
As long as it wasn't your responsibility to lock the door and you didn't ignore warning notices about possible theft then you should be ok. As ever with insurance claims be honest but only give them as much information as you need to.
You need to have taken reasonable precaustions to ensure the safety of your keys. Failing to check that the clubhouse door was locked regardless of who's responsibilty it was might be seen to be negligent. Depending on the stance of the insurance company you might have a fight on your hands.
So, if you get asked whether you checked that the doors were normally locked then you say "yes I did".
