evening
does the car need codes clearing........fitted new abs sensor that arrived today but still got the warnings that abs and traction control are still not working
my lead wont connect to abs ecu need to buy some addons so just asking before i buy em........disconnected battery and made no difference
yes did you fit right abs sensor by the way ,if you cant connect how do you know it was right one it might go out after so many start cycles but cant see it
yes to got front left for the front left corner........swaped hub a few weeks back cos bearing was gone, think abs sensor got damaged in the swap over cos abs as error as been with me since then.......new cable arrived today and fitted
all i have is a vag kkl lead and fiatecuscan and it can not connect to abs ecu they sell addons on ebay for £16
1 abs sensor connector is a socket on the end the cars wiring as a green inner to the plug
2 i believe it was it was listed as a gt part but the abs sensor socket was wrong, the hub ends looked identical the long keyblade style, same size and fit
3 when fitted the lights stayed out for a while but returned
4 im aware of that but im not soldering id preffer to get the 3 connector cables for £16 if i need them, its not a lot of money to do the job properly
I suspect the new sensor is damaged because of the wrong wheel hub / strut assembly. the older hubs have a deeper/wider bearing which will damage the new type longer abs sensor. I hope i'm wrong.
ok so when i swapped the hub i swapped sensors.....they are hard to get out and i was carefull, but assumed id damaged it, when i tried to get it out today i had to drill it but the blade was still ok no damage to it at all, i compared the hubs before fitting and they looked identical......i spun the hub after fitting new sensor and didnt hear anything.......im sure i looked too and it was in the right place but ill check
just had a look mate the blade on sensor is still intact, snugly fitting between rear or bearing and end of drive shaft
ill order a set of the 3 ecu connectors i need in the morning and got but a 36mm thin walled socket incase hub as to come of to clean the abs ring......i borrowed last one
on looking closely im not sure the back of the bearing is correct the abs ring seems too far in for the blade to touch
that could be why its not working
are there any techy guys who know how much the bearing differ between models....as the hub unit is the same.......? if i need to ill order a set tomo, my mate as the old hub and as a press, got mot is a week or so, so need to get to the bottom of it..... unless someone as a GT hub unit laying about
just been down to alfatech and they confirm that diesel is different, gotta get over to my mates to pick old hub assy up and alfatech will pop a new bearing in it for me, they can get the bearings from a local supplier
ok so im sorted the bearings are indeed different £85 plus vat saw my old hub with new bearings fitted........swapped hubs over today and its all working as it should now.
if anyone needs a passenger side hub assembly i have one spare.......for petrol 147,156 and gt
yeah its ok....didnt need acess....was only pondering if something in there needed resetting.......it was purely the fact the hub had wrong bearing......all correct now......lights knock themselfs off after a few hundred yards and have stayed out
