Today i notice when i came to turn my engine light off for another problem i had, i notice an extra error code 0115 which is Coolant Temperature Circuit Malfunction. The temp display inside car reads 70- just under 90 which i thought was ok and was normal but when i lifted the bonnet it seem to be really hot. i let the car cool for an hour went round the block and it seemed very hot for 2 mins of driving. Is it the thermostat or the other sensor attatched to thermostat housing thats at fault?
did you let car run to 95ish on examiner to see if cooling fans kick in , i would unplug temp sender and reconnect anyway and then check to see if code comes back.....
fans dont kick in while 110 the line after 90. when fans kickin it drops back to 90. Theres a fault somewhere otherwise engine wouldnt be that hot. temp gauge can read 70 but the engine is so hot. just dont know what to replace?
i dont have examiner just a code reader. i have read else where they replaced coolant sensor they had same error code 0115 and says the engine is cool but it obviusly is not but they didnt have engine over heating like me. the gauge in car is ok not sure whether to replace the whole thermostat with both sensors to eliminate the problem
have you checked coolant level........ whats bottom hose like to touch?warm,, cold,, hot ?
