Sorry folks, but I'm sure I asked this question last year. I've searched the forums but can't find it and I've been looking through other threads but they all seem to apply to 1.6s, 1.8s and diesels.
So, I'm trying to find what the pressures should be for an '02 156 2.0 Veloce which as far as I'm concerned is standard in terms of wheels.
Ill have a look in the morning. They are the 5 hole teledial style. I seem to remember that they were quite high, possibly around 34 to 36 psi for normal driving and perhaps 38 at high speed. I wonder if they are 16"
I used to have mine at 32psi too, until I saw a thread here a few months back on how inflating to correct tyre pressure improved handling dramatically and the levels quoted were about 35 or 38 (don't have my handbook to hand). I checked and inflated to pressures given in handbook and handling and grip seemed markedly better.
I normally tend to run mine at 40psi as I prefer the feel, but this thread has prompted me to check the car handbook....and it shows (for all models/engine sizes and for both 15" and 16" wheels) 2.2 bar front and rear for reduced load (2 persons) and 2.5 bar front and rear for full load AFAIK 1bar = 15psi....so 33psi and (say) 36psi respectively......

Thanks for all your replies chaps. I'm pretty sure the replies I got last year were about 35 and 38.....in fact, I think David may have come riding to the rescue that time as well. Unfortunately I think my short term memory must be going, so thanks whoever you are.
Hi folks, as a result of reading this thread I have tried my tyre pressures at 36 PSI on my 2.5 V6 156 and it does feel better! Sharper and more feedback through the wheel. Good work:thumbs:
Now all we need is the council/government to sort the road surface out and we're laughin
