I have one of these brackets in my phase 1 for my satnav :

Alfa Romeo GTV/Spyder 96-97 | Alfa Romeo | Dashmount Brackets | Dashmount - Dashmount

It's non-destructive as it just clips round the vents.

There's also one for the phase 2 which attaches to screws behind the silver centre console
Alfa Romeo GTV/Spyder 98> | Alfa Romeo | Dashmount Brackets | Dashmount - Dashmount

Left hand drive? You probably need to ask them and also about local retailers.

There's also brodit which should be available anywhere and definitely LHD and have more than one solution for phase 2 :

Brodit.se

I did try the Brodit bracket for the Phase 1 and didn't like it. The attachment method was poor.

Hi,

Why not think a little out of the box, replace your head unit with a unit that has bluetooth sync. Thant way you do not have to place the phone, just keep it in you pocket and when the phone rings just answer on the head unit and talk... no fumbling about, keep hands on the steering wheel.

Ciao

I ve got that on my Pioneer head unit, I put my phone in the armrest unit and the number comes on display when the phone rings and as it is bluetooth I talk to the microphone which is located on the front drivers windscreen pillar. Easy

Hi Bengt i agree with your point, but will also be using the phone as a Navigation tool, albeit it have voice readout, i would like to be able to see the display without having to take my eyes of the road too long..

The Brodit clip solution offered, where the phone is situated next to the Radio, is doable, but a bit low..

Any other idea or known solution other than the suction cup attached to the wind screen.

Hi Highfly,

Well, there are e few things you can do. Perhaps I took it to the extreme, I installed a head unit that has built in Radio, GPS, BlueTooth sync, TV, CD/DVD, AUX and iPod features, now the GPS is precise I rarely look at it... I just listen to the instructions. Of course this comes with some installation work but it is not that difficult and I manages to do it without cutting or drilling a single hole.

There are many head units out there that does have all these features, if you are cool with having a no name unit then go for it. The cool thing is that the GPS software comes on a 2GB SD card, and you can put any Win CS 5.0 compatible GPS software on there. I later installed a DVB-T receiver so I can listen/watch the news in the morning, it also has a USB port that allows have a USB memory stick, 16GB of music.

If you have an iPhone, I would look at this unit... quite clever idea.
