Hi. I've had the 147 2.0ts on the road since end of March. I've done about 1500mls maybe a bit more and its used nearly 9lrs of oil! I know i've been told they use it but this can't be right! £30 for 4.5lrs so it's getting expensive lol
Any ideas what it could be? The rings have been mentioned but I want to know if this is normal first or if something simple. It's not like i'm thrashing the car i'm sticking to speed and always changing no more than 3k revs. Thanks
Yeah lol if I take it any higher dont want to cause any damage to the engine... been told there fragile :/ and the oil is ACDelco 5w40 100% synthetic it's what the local motorists shop said could go in it.
and with the history of the car its got fsh when i bought it from auction last service 4000mls ago. I've had the cambelt changed water pump and variator
Yeah 10w40 is what you should be using. Nevertheless, using 5w40 shouldn't mean 9 litres of oil being used from 1500 miles of driving. Something is definitely wrong there.
