If i had chose the car from new I would have picked the tan bottom half dash to match seats and doors my car dash is all black.
I am now thinking if I can get correct colour match I will dye the instument binical and center consol area tan, following the natural line of the dash shape.
I think this will give a warmer feel and make the dash even more driver focused.
What do you think ? where can I get OEM alfa tan dye
cheers:confused:

The best and most honest advice I can give is....................don't do it!

Any attempt by an amateur to paint, dye or retrim a car interior is just going to look amateur and take £££'s off the value of the car. To go from black to tan you are talking of a paint or surface coating - with dyes you can only go darker.
Find a car trim professional and take their advice.

In the official RHD beige colour scheme (Like my first 159) the seats, carpet, headlining, bottom 3/4's of the door, B posts, sun visors, glove box and the trim between the dashboard and the tunnel were all beige.

I prefer it to the all black in my Ti and to the Ti beige scheme where everything is black except the seats and the bit of leather in the door card.

The official one isnt dyed, its wrapped in beige vinyl instead of black.

LHD comes with the top of the dash in brown too and the steering wheel (wheel sometimes appears in the UK as well)

My 1.9 JTS was like that and I absolutely hated it.
It made the car feel like a cheap German experiment.
I could still live with the lack of power but the interior made the decision to sell so much easier.

I definitely prefer my 2.4’s all black interior

I have to check as I have this type of colour combo, although its not tan..... but im pretty sure its moulded in that colour not wrapped. You will not be able to do much with the plastic parts, best to get it from a scrapped car but in that colour you will be very lucky!

If you know how to use various tools in photoshop, just take a few clear pics of the cabin area, done in decent lighting conditions (no flash), and modify the photos to any combination you want. Strangely enough this is what often happens in car brochures ...

You'll be able to get a very good idea of what its going to look like before expending loads of cash and effort before ending up with something gone horribly wrong ...

Somewhere on the PC at home I've got some pics of various actual 159 schemes like you describe, as well as some photoshop experiments on a Brera cockpit that I did last year. If you're interested I'll dig em out and post em up.

If you have any or can find them that would be great,
I think some on the forum think I want to do the entire dash, I am only thinking of a small section round dial's binical and center consul Alfa did not do a dash like this. the dash has a moulded line which I would follow I have checked out demos on You Tube many dye even seats.
Any help will be appreciated Cheers Deek
