Ill-fitting spoiler

Been sold an "alfa 156" spoiler. Been for fitting quotes. Been told it's not for my car, but seller insists it is. He says it's warped in storage and the fibre glass can be forced into shape when fitting it. Fitter says this can be done, but shape will be wrong and spoiler will crack almost immediately. Your opinions would be much appreciated.

pics, which spoiler is it;)

You will also need stronger boot struts because of the weight of the spoiler.
The ends of the normal ones snap under the extra weight...

curve where? mine curves everywhere:lol: bigger pics:thumbs: show me

show me, bigger pics so you can above;)

it does, mine overhangs the boot edges;) the supposed too:thumbs: ill get some pics up tomorrow to show you where and how it fits:thumbs:

It is meant to be wide of the lid.

The holes shouldn't be wide of it though, and should sit about 1/2" in from the edge.

that looks ok, ill get pics of mine tomorrow to compare:thumbs:

here you go, see the size of the over hangs:thumbs: and the 'L' shape you were on about:thumbs:

the L shape is there to raise the spoiler on the end so that when you shut the boot, the spoiler doesnt slap into the wing;)

i know mate, and it was a dealer option (before i got it) lazy halfwits

how much were the other struts? im gona do them myself later, or sooner if they give up

You can see on your first pic how it doesn't follow the line of the boot. I found some common sense and worked out, it's to stop it hitting the window! Now all I have to do if find someone to fit it who knows what they're doing!

I'm in Shropshire. Can anybody suggest someone local? I can get it sprayed for a good price. Just need it fitted.

aint got a clue, i cant find them either, having said that though, my car is 7 years old on original non spoiler struts, just being careful. eper doesnt list them either:confused:

£100 for spray and fitting is a great price:thumbs: all providing they do it propperly;) which they should its only 6 bolts.

not all that carefull really, let the boot go up on its own, though it wont with the spoiler, just give it a helping hand but dont pull it faster than the struts are moving, shutting is pretty painless.

just ake sure they dont over grease the struts and the joints, as the spoiler may fly up and hit the window, so always wise to keep hold of the boot if your struts are working very well;) dont want a smashing accident do we:lol:

just trying to find the modified struts, proving very hard:rant:

right the part number from the dealer is 60657685, in eper its 10 grams heavier than the other strut so presume this is it as they have the same description. they have metal ends apparently so they are visually different, about £50 each mind:rant:

ill ask my dealer and the royal bank of the other half, as she has just payed £387 to fix my car, after i curbed it:mad:

but i will ask my dealer about them for sure:thumbs:

yeah get it done, i wont break the boot, but just keep hold of the lid when opening the boot to be on the safe side;)

yeah ill email or phone my dealer tomorrow and ask about the uprated struts:thumbs:

that look better, love that colour:D and your welcome:thumbs:

i dont have skirts either but 17 or 18" wheels are not really needed. some nice teles and skirts and then lower it, and im sorted. im a 3rd of the way there:lol:
