Hi Guys. My alfa 156 will not start so I am looking for some help. A few years back the yellow immobiliser light was working intermittently as such the car failed to start some times. I got around this by wiggling the cables underneath the steering column. But now the car will not start at all and the immobilizer light is off. I have wiggled the cables till I am blue in the face but to no avail. I have check all of the fuses and they are ok.
Can some please give me a pointer as to what I can try to resolve this?
If when you turn the key the code light comes on and goes off again then no ammount of wiggling those cables would help, as they are not the problem. It's the crank sensor.
I went to a garage in East Kilbride and they bloke there sorted it right away. Turned out it was a fuel relay that was causing the problem. The blokes service was first class and his prices very acceptable.
I should have added chaps, that I got the car, started it in what was mild weather, reversed out my drive way and saw my cat heading towards me so I put the brakes on and the car engine just stopped. I tried to restart it but with no success. The chap from green flag could not get it started either. I also check the oil level the other day there and noticed that their aint much in it. Could this have anything to do with my situation?
P.S. Guy thanks for the feedback thus far, much appreciated.
Bobby
