Hmmmmm - not very conclusive though, sounds just like every other 159 You Tube video - including the diesels in-car - would have preferred to see more of the rev counter, but it seems to pull well in the mid range.
Thanks for finding the link
Remapped 2.4 diesel would still be my favourite however
Yes a turbo doesn't help the exhaust noise at all, they mostly sound deadly dull - you need the "ripping silk" sounds of a high revving, naturally aspirated, petrol engine every once in a while.
I drove the TBi at Mango's yesterday. It's a gutsy, linea little unit that pulls well from low down but runs out of puff at exactly 6k rpm. It hits the limiter. Sounds ok but needs the John treatment as my 2.2 sounds better and the 2.2M sounds awesome. The seats were poor & the steering felt heavy despite having tall profile 17 inch tyres. Can't say the mid spec car felt any lighter than my fully loaded Ti either. I'll not be in a rush to change mine so will hold on until they bring the 230bhp 1750 Brera Ti to the UK.
