The Goodyear Eagle GSD3 are currently on offer at Camskill at £75.36 a corner in your size. I think these are what the Asymmetrics have replaced.
There's also Toyo Proxes T1R but only in 91W at £70.60, maybe worth a gamble would be the Hankook K110 V12 Evo at only £52.80 each in a 91Y, these have had brilliant writeups although I've never used them myself.
And again, Kumho Ecsta Sport KU31 at only £50.60 (W rated), Jus recommended these to me and I have top agree with him on how good they are, I have these on the back of my 156 and oversteer is not an issue in the wet unless I try really hard to provoke it. And this is with Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas on the front, known for how grippy they are in the wet. Unfortunately you can't get the Vreds in 215/45/17, only 225/45/17.
You really seem to rate the Dunlops, maybe you should stick with them if you are happy with them? I had Dunlop SP Sport 3000 on the front of my 156 when I bought it and I thought they were a bit naff tbh, but maybe the Sport Maxx are much better?

GSD3 are the superceeded eagle F1 and IMHO are not as good as the F1 asymetric ( but still an excellent tyre) the asymetric are better in the wet and have less road noise
I had the Kumho sport on my twin spark and they where an excellent tyre. they are being fitted as standard fitment on quite a lot of cars now
Goodyear asymmetric (extra load, 225 45 17) have been fine on the GT. Rim protection is a bonus, and the tyre looks wider as a result. I think the Bridgestones (the high spec ones - can't remember the code) that the Goddyears replaced might slightly have had the edge, but the Goodyears were cheaper - and in stock. The front lower wishbones are worn, so maybe that play is influencing things! We shall see how they work with Q2/FSDs/Eibach soon.
Interesting to see that Pirellis have lasted so long... its the main reason i didnt bought them as i thought its a very soft rubber prone to wear shortly... I use ContiSportContacts 2, they last over 30k miles with good grip and low road noise.
I bought the goodyear f1 asymmetric from Camskill. Gave them a bit of stick on a drive down to the South coast at the weekend and they seem pretty good
i would reccomend both pirelli pzero nero and toyo t1-r
ooops, dident spot the last post
