Picked up my 159 from Western in Edinburgh today. All I can say is that I'm well chuffed Not done a huge mileage in it, but it was a struggle keeping the revs below 3000 as advised by the dealer. The engine sounds just amazing.
I think I need to get up early tomorrow and drive to work the long way
Know that feeling well. I keep driving mine like my old V6 and keep looking for excuses to go out in it. As a result, I've already done 11k miles in 6 months - that used to take me the whole year to cover before!
So, stop looking out of the window at it (I know you will be, cos I still do ) and get to bed now. Early to bed, early to rise, and all that. (Oh dear, I sound just like my parents. ) That way, morning will come quicker and you know what's waiting for you then.
I've had my 159 since Saturday and I am well and truly in love. They look good in photos, but even better in the flesh. I get plenty of admiring glances, particularly at the beautiful headlights.
The interior is fantastic as well. Never have I been so comfortable in a vehicle. Commuting to work is now my favourite time of the day. It's just a shame work and sleep get in the way of driving.
Hi Ricky. I've had mine since October 07 and also got mine from Western in Edinburgh. Always a pleasure to drive and look at, especially when just cleaned as the Alfa red looks the business.
Looking forward to a long drive to Cornwall at end of April, hopefully get the mpg into the mid 40s.
Drive to work was fun! Fuel economy is not my biggest concern, but according to the wee computer, I was getting 34.7 MPG on the way to work. Not so on the way back. Due to a heavy right foot incident, I managed 28.6. But it was fun!!!!!!
This car is awesome!!!! BMW and Audi guys don't know what they are missing
With the 159, it's like Alfa out-Germaned the Germans yet still keeping Italian flair and soul. The 2.2 JTS may be maligned but that little engine just sings and zings and keeps on revving. It may not be as manic as a Twin Spark but it better suits the more mature character of the car. I'd love to try a JTDM diesel someday.
My 147 feels really old-school now - raw, noisy, thumpy ride, more mechanical. On twisty country roads, I think I could go a lot faster in a 159 even though it's heavier. I'd probably end up in a ditch if I drove as fast in my 147
