Hi,

I got my Alfa 156, 2,0 TS diagnosed at the local Alfa Romeo dealer.
The engine stopped at 3000 rpm and i had a yellow light in the instrument panel.

The diagnose was that the cam position sensor was default. I have ordered a new one.

Is is a complex job to change this sensor?? To i need to remove the cam?

I will involve removing the cam belt and the cam gear (inlet I think).

Tried a search? I've read about these on here before.

Mine is apparently playing up (P0340 fault) but the engine's running perfectly. Even had the mgmt light on a couple of times but it's reset itself!

It is obviously a big job to change the sensor, so you want to be very VERY sure it is that before you do it.

But if you are due a cambelt change anyway (remember every 60000km/36000miles/3-years) then it is a small extra on top.
