Conversion to glass sunroof

Anyone done it, or thought about doing it?

I love having my sunroof, I use it most dry days (often just in the lifted up position as a bit of non-direct fresh air), but I like the extra light you get from a glass roof.

Maybe some comments, even just to humour me, but more specifically about the 156 roof as a possibility.

I see no reason why the FL 166 glass roof wont fit, but dont take that as gospel. The roof panel itself, and the whole interior are the same for the FL. it was pretty much just the nose.
Yeah, that was my thinking but the problem would be finding one - as far as I can gather from Epee, they're about £300 to buy new.

£300 is just the panel - I already have the sunroof gubbins.

A proper sunroof is in the region of £1k to have fitted - up and over types are cheaper, obviously (as far as I can gather from a web page I saw earlier).

I was also thinking about maybe asking an aftermarket company to modify mine, which shouldn't be too much work, I wouldn't have thought.

I've never noticed a sunroof on a FL, even in Italy, so never realised there was a glass option. I assume it has a blind which can be pulled? Go for one with solar panels in the glass, to keep the aircon working when parked up in the summer ;)

I remember when I hitched a lift in the Pagani Zonda.
Hitched a lift?! As in thumb out? What are the chances of a Zonda stopping?

There are lots of standard cars with glass dome roofs now. Fiat uses them and they certainly add a lot of light into the cabin. That and avoiding the dreaded black leather makes the biggest difference.

An aftermarket job you mean?
Asked for more photos (again) and a bit more info.

I'm sure I could get mine professionally converted to glass for not much more than £100.

I'll see what the eBay seller has to say.

Text used correctly would not cause a problem (tone of text is the problem maker).

You missed the word 'GENUINE' from your 'never doubt sunroof statement'. If you want to know what the options were, you should read an options list :)

Playing is not a problem, tone is ;)

No, it does not mean that you are more honest - maybe that you do not 'think before you ink' :)

You received a polite warning because I have observed some of your comment and appologies of the past in other posts, and gave you the benefit of doubt.

So, matter closed

For the record, 166's came with the option of electic, glass auto roof (Webasco, if I remember correctly - as I can't be bothered to go outside to look at the moment), but I will look, note and post tomorrow if you are interested ;)

......... may even take pics for you, if you ask nicely ;)
