I've noticed that the display of the 'boardcomputer' works in slow motion when it's cold
After a few minutes the LCD? display warms up and works correctly. It should display a new warning: 'Warning, this message could be difficult to read now!'
That's quite normal.
I'm working on lcd displays and I can tell you that they need some time to give the full brightness.
The speed is also affected by temperature. (liquid crystals that can't change so fast when there cold...)
Wait until it's 40°C, then you won't be able to read anything because it's too fast...
I've yet to see an LCD display that doesn't get affected by the cold, it's probably the oil they use in there (or whatever it is). It means LIQUID crystal display you know...
Maybe if you replace the oil in there with some good cold weather motor oil?

I have a lcd monitor and even using it inside (of course! wink ) I notice a very small effect when starting. It goes off a minute after starting.

I've not this problem with the connect !!!
Don't know why !

Its beacause the back illumination of the connect is stronger and releases some heat that influences the displays behaviour.

aicule, deja in business?! bravos mah, o sa-ti scoti din cap bmw-ul ala...
Also be aware of parking your car in full sun.
Remenber what happens when you leave your digital watch or calculator in full sun.
The crystals break and a turn black.
Don't know how resistant the lcd of the connect system is, but I wouldn't take any chances.
Changing one would be very expensive I think. eek!
Just a warning when al this cold weather is over...
