Just wondered what everyone else's MPG is?

My 2.0 145 Cloverleaf returns about 23.9mpg . This is mainly short journeys with a with a lot of traffic jams etc.

What does everyone else get?

This tank full included the trip back from Huddersfield, plus the majority of my journey to and from work is quick A-road.

I say how much?) Mind you, I suppose my lead foot doesn't help.

Plus the 1.4 needs to be revved hard to make it go!
That secondary growl which starts at 6500rpm is music to my ears :D :D

Scrub the last bit anyway, I just redid my calculations and I get 28MpG now.

The miles per tank went right up from 220 to 260 recently. The only change was I ran out of fuel completely the week before.

Its the same stuff anyway :D !

Just finished another tank of petrol on the way back from Hull. I got 28mpg this time instead of 29.
Probably due to having to stay in a low gear for most of the jourbney incase Rick decided to use some of that big bundle of torque he's got.

The best I have done so far is 550km (350mil) with 50lt of gas. The maximum speed was 140km/h (about 87m/h). I think it's reasonable. What I cannot understand is the difference of the top speeds between the 1.4 T.S. and the 2.0 ti. The best I have ever done is 235km/h at about 7100rpm and a friend of mine with a 1.4T.S. did 215km/h. Why the difference is so little????????? frown

Because at any speed over about 200kph you are in the realms of aerodynamics rather than brute power.

Bearing in mind that in order to double your top speed your power has to increase nine fold (the cube rule) , the extra top whack on the 2 litre is quite impressive! Also remember that the 2 litre car's aerodynamic's are identical to the 1.4's!
