Hi guys, I have searched the numerous threads on my selespeed issue but couldn't find one that relates to my problem. Selespeed warnings comes on like every 2 minutes whenever the ignition is on. Car drives fine and goes through the gears fine. All actuators are and relevant sensors work well. Hydraulic pressure is fine and door switch is fine. Dont think I have leaks either. One constant fault code coming up is one about stuck relay but relay is fine as it is a new one. Not sure how to go about it. Any pointer please?
.
It's running fine but I would have to time it to give an answer. About 4 to seconds when you open the door. Split second at about 3 to 4min interval after initial priming. The actuators' gragh corresponds as in you see the pressure dropping and going back to normal when gear is operated. The gragh shows relay opening and closing as well when pump kicks in.
Hi, I timed the initial priming @ 8 seconds and split second every 3 min or so. With ignition on and diag in, the pressure drops and rise every gear change.
If I may, another problem I have is this, I thought the exhaust heat shield was vibrating because it is cracked. This happens when the enginge is cold. I found that it isn't the culprit for the noise. Rather, it is coming from the cam gears section of the cylinder head. Any thoughts, pls.
You don't need the engine running.
You can hear the pump when it runs.
So....
Ignition on
Wait for pump to stop
It should already be in 1st gear as that is where you left it.
Select 2nd, then 3rd, then 4th, etc..
Count how many changes you can make before the pump runs again (you will hear it when it does.
The pump must be running. You won't get to 10 changes before it runs.
Which makes me think it is constantly running, which is usually a failed accumulator.
Ok. Shouldn't I be hearing the pump running continuously then? Am going over to a friend friend now. I will try and listen whilst she engages the gear. Thanks for the help.
Will get back to you shortly.
I have checked now. What I found is that the pump kicks in every gear change as I listen to it. Is that the accumulator gone and what risk is there driving it?

I drove about 400km in my selespeed with a failed accumulator. Only problem was it missed a few gear changes here and there. So it should be ok, but best to get it replaced quickly. It's a cheap part and easy to fit.
Thanks for the vital info. I've decided not to drive it unless I have to. I did check on ebay for accumulator but no luck. Can I get a pointer as to how to get one, pls.
I fitted my N/S/F upper arm today because I discovered there was too much play in the busshing but I really believe the annoying knocks on uneven roads are coming from worn ARB bushing. When I removed the drop links and went for a gentle drive the knocking had reduced. Me being me, I didnt tighten the top suspension mount befor the drive which did produced occasional noise not similar to the usual samba. I did notice that the ARB was able to slide side to side thru the bushing but when I fitted every thing back, most of the noises if not all has gone. Now, the reason for my tales is that am having ARB bushings fitted tomorrow. Minding that it is a job am not looking foward to, should I proceed or chill as the noise isn't there for now?
Help pls. I got ahead of myself as usual. I preped for for fitting new accumulator tomorrow by removing everything in the way except that I left my window down and I didn't depressurise the system. Do I have to put battery back in and bleed the pressure or it would be ok to remove the accumulator by tomorrow? Advise pls.
Hello, just an update on selespeed. I fitted a new accumulator which solved the problem I had. I also calibrated the clutch which was at 32mm. Gear change is hardly noticeable now. Thanks for all the forum's support.
