Had a ganders at my mainbeam bulbs today because passenger side is a bit high, tabs were down and the bulb was tightly fitted , had to tug quite hard to remove them . Which made me think they were in the wrong way , so i replaced them tab up , found they sat much better and were easier to get in and out .
Before replacing the bulb i ran my finger around the edge of the hole and felt a gap at the top so thats where i thought the tab must go .
why u didnt just adjust the beam from the up/down right/left controls on the headlight.. my pass side was a bit high too but i managed to take it where i wanted.
I have done this , came to the end of adjustment but beam was still to high , so checked the bulbs out also found earlier thread on this by searching headlightbulbs,
and answers were tang up so my bulbs were in the wrong way .
Thats what i thought Roswell , because of the tang , but the idiot who changed the bulbs before i owned the car had forced them in with the tang down . All sorted now , TANG UP .
Many Thanks
