Go and order some new blue cloverleafs from Alfa then, you can't
I know a guy who bought a 145 QV new, with green badges, within six months they were all blue. If you've seen a new one with blue badges, I guess its been sat around a while.
Blue ones can't be original, they must be either faded green ones or aftermarket - the clue is in the name of the car, Quadrifoloio Verde - GREEN Cloverleaf!!!
As you can see, the anti-blue brigade get quite militant about this subject.
I'm not fully convinced either way, but my 145 had matching blue cloverleaves all round. They were a very strong colour and it was very hard to believe that they could fade to that colour (and that all 3 could fade by exactly the same degree).
Read the thread I linked to, which I think includes a lot of details from people who have looked into it, and come to your own conclusion.
Why isn't the "Blue Cloverleaf" model listed anywhere then? A chap on Alfa145.com spoke to Alfa GB, asking them about the blue badges, they'd no idea either.
When I had both my Cloverleafs, one had all green badges the other all blue. There was no difference in the cars, spec or performance.
I also have the 145 Brochures, no mention of any "Blue Cloverleaf" version.
I have blue badges all round and have discussed this with many, opinion is split but most believe they were original as all the same colour and tone, belief is that the blue ones are special in some way and all other coloured badge owners are jealous because the blu ones look better. :cheese:
I've got blue badges all round, all perfectly equal blue. A bit too perfect to be faded.
I spoke to one chap, I think he's on here somewhere, and from what I gathered he spoke to Alfa UK and was told that they were on the later pre-facelifted 145s, and they had the injectors form the phase 2 twinny and a limited edition pen!!!!!!!!! Needless to say I was gutted to find that mine didn't have the pen when I bought it Apparently they were 153 hp as opposed to the 148 of the other QVs
Isnt it incredible that a professional company would show a 'dirty' badge on their shopping cart. I wonder how many they have sent back when people realise that they are green and not black
This one was already stuck to a brand new car direct from the factory, nothing came from flea-bay. Doh!
