:( Hello, having trouble tuning carbs. I've been told I need mercury gauges. Any body know where I could purchase these on the net!!! They are the Webber Carbs and can't seem to get anyone in my area ( Cork, Ireland) that can help.... Hopefully some body out there can point me in the right direction....before I sell the car in frustration  Thanks, Piaras

I couldn't get anyone to touch mine when the carbs needed to be set up. I bought one of those colortune things and roughly balanced the idle mixture that way then fine tuned the butterflies by ear / feel / luck. I'm running delortos so dont know if it'll be as straightforward with the webers.

Hope you get it sorted.

not that it helps but............

My local (ex-Alfa) dealer has a set of mercury gauges specifically for doing this job- funny tho' when i asked them if they wanted to have a go at using them on my car - they all said they were busy for the next 6 months and shuffled away quickly!!!!

They did say that i could borrow them and have a go myself - but wanted me to leave a cheque for £1000 as an insurance against me breaking them!!!

I took my car and got it rolling road tuned, it runs sweet as a nut now:D

cheers

Ya sounds like it's a prroblem with them alright!! I've heard some one else mention rolling road before... Once I found two older mechanics that did it for me but they are not in business anymore....thanks for all the help anyway..Food for thought...Cheers, Piaras
