I've been using sandisk micro, corsair, HP usb sticks with no issues. Even this little USB gadget called bCODA Jak works like perfectly. I corrected the mp3 tags of a lot of files that had crazy characters and wrong or long names.
I did find this app/software that claims to help make the songs on the USB stick work - BluMeUSB Homepage
Do try a couple of different USB sticks that you might have first before trying the paid software I've linked above
Toshiba 16Mb stick operates no problem with MP3 files.
icemancometh, that application is interesting but I actually spend time manually removing the track numbers; that way I can select them by title.
What I also do a lot is record Antenne Bayern Chillout using RadioSure, then convert to .mp3. The titles are automatically saved for each track, though I then remove the artist name from the file name leaving the track name. The artist name still comes up during playback because it's in the properties data.
