Yep! As Mitch states its not an easy job as half of one side of engine needs to be removed to get at it or if you have a car lift then from below, but it doesnt look easy from below either ..........so IMO 3-4hrs is about right.
I've only ever had one done, a few years ago, & the 'mechanic' did it jacked up on the floor in less than a couple of hours.........he did swear a lot though.:lol:
Always makes me chuckle, a secondhand alternator is fitted to a secondhand car! whats wrong with that. Chances are a "new" alternator is chinese or a recon. On a serious note ive probably binned twenty good alternators in the last year.
Bit different from brakes or a clutch.
