Hey all, having a few issues with the battery on my GT..

my battery went flat, about 1year ago, due to the cold weather, so i bought a new one and car worked a treat..

the last couple of months tho, the battery has been going flat in under a week, sometimes within 4/5days of driving it last.. Ive tried another battery that i have here, and the same happens, ive unplugged all the electrical add-ons i have (parrot/ipod) and still no avail!

any ideas? as im getting stuck now, batterys dont usually die within the year do they?

Ned, you wouldnt know off hand what the standard "drain" on a GT is? long shot i know!

its pulling 1.6a with nothing on... drops to .6a with F59 (cig lighter) disconnected...
That's both way to high.....
Should be below 100 mA (0.1 Amp) at most, preferably less, with everything off (make sure doors are closed, lights off etc.)

(with a drain of 1.6 amps, a 70 Ah battery would last a max of 70/1.6 = 44 hours before it was fully drained, less assuming normal values)

several people on here have reported issues with flattening batteries caused by dodgy cd head units. The solution it seems is to leave a cd in the unit at all times. I've not had the problem myself but when I got the car there was a cd in the player so I always leave one in there - you never know do you.
