My ABS light keeps popping back on after a few days even after I've reset it with the Examiner. Any ideas why?

Dude, I thought it was your airbag lights? Anyway, give me a buzz, I've got a Workshop CD and a Parts CD you can take a look. But have it checked over by an Alfa specialist with the Examiner. The Examiner can carry out ABS diagnosis on: pump motor, solenoid valves, speed sensors.

Fix can vary from replacing sensors(okay...), replace wheel hubs(uh-oh!), to "Replace electrohydraulic unit-electronic control unit"(OUCH!)

You have the Examiner, wanna sell it ???? What's the DTC(s) before you erase it(them)

The ABS sensors on the early 156'es weren't wery durable. They were using Hall technology over the old fashioned induction sensors, it should be sorted now though.

If it's the airbag light,

and you have side airbags in the front seats (sport seats or veloce recaro) check the connectors under the seat these permenantly go dodgy as they are not well secured.

It's a well known fault that only took my dealer 6 months and 2 new ECU's and a seat rebuild to find despite me keeping on asking him to check the connectors. electricians tape sorted it in the end....

There you go Redd. Alfa156man answered your question. Get your garage to check those underseat connectors. Phew..., Airbag lights should be cheaper to fix than ABS sensors, I hope.

btw, did u make sure the passenger airbag system is not turned off ? Airbag light stays on if you manually turn off passenger airbag with the key.

New nicks? Nah, I registered in AO a couple of yrs ago, not new. Having a bit of an identity crisis, maybe... :D

Hi guys, just wondered if anybody knew exactly where the connectors join, and how the hell to get to them! Is it a job i can do or do i have to take the seat off etc... My Alfa is brilliant if it weren't for a few niggly little problems like that pain in the butt light! Any help is appreciated.

Matt
