my new engine was just wipped out as quickly as poss, most the wires and rubber hoses have been cut out but it came with all the bits attatched like gearbox, sump, exhaust manifold, starter motor, alternator etc see pics below

so what the best/easiest thing todo? put the engine in with or without the gearbox

would it be best to put all my parts on the new engine and the put it in the car or put the engine in the car and then add my bits?

any advise would be great, cheers jon

i did 3 engine swaps till today (145 1.6ts, 33.15 to 1.716v and removing refitting engine in my gtv v6)

I found out that it's best to do everything you can on the engine while it's still out. And fitting it in the car from the bottom is much easier then from the top (i did it just by myself always)
Lift the car, push the engine under then lower the car or lift the engine to it's position. I have an electric crane so i lay under the car and operate the crane while trying to fit the bolts in for engine mounts.
