I've recently changed mine. You need one from a facelift model if you want one that works! It's a bit fiddly but OK if your hands are small.

Undo the Philips screws inside the glovebox with the glovebox door open. I think there are about 6 from memory. Not easy due to the angle of the screws but an electrician's style screwdriver or short screwdriver should do the trick. The whole assembly should 'hinge' down once the screws are out.

You'll see two multi-connectors for the info panel to your right. Fairly easy to disconnect.

There are two 3mm allen bolts that hold the unit to the dash. You have to unclip the alarm LED from the unit once you've removed the allen bolts and carefully lifted out part of the way. Tape this to the dash so it doesn't drop inside!

Feed the cables up through the whole in the dash and the whole thing will pull away.

Pull the stereo out for access (no need to unplug the multi connector on the back of the stereo which will save putting in the code).

That was the easy part. With the new info panel loosly in place, feed the multi connectors and wires back through the hole and towards the multi connectors. It's a bit trial-and-error as the hole and routing is so tight. Hopefully with the stereo out, you can gain some access and see what's going on a bit more! A torch is also a good idea! You'll have to get your hand right in and up via the right-hand-side of the inside of the dash from the glove box access to pull the wires down to get them to re-connect to the multi plug. There are a few nasty metal bits in there which will scratch your hand. It's a bit fiddly and annoying but very doable!

There is a housing clip on the large multi connector which you'll probably see upon removal. I'd had enough by the time I'd got it all routed and plugged back in so mine doesn't sit in its housing clip. Far too fiddly to get it to slide on but it really won't matter. It ain't going anywhere!

The facelift info panel is much nicer to look at and not as clunky. Mine now works a treat!

Hope this helps!
