I wont be there but my 75 gearbox will be. I suggested to Tom that it would be good if he could have the gearbox there stripped down and on show for the meet. I have just had an email confirming that this will happen so if anyone is interested in seeing what goes on inside a gearbox or what exactly goes into restoring one then this is your chance

Yeah you will see the gearbox
I suggested it to Tom as im sure there are many people who have no idea whats inside a gearbox or indeed how they actually work. Its a perfect chance for everyone really because if anyone can explain how they work and what does what its those guys!
Your always welcome to pop over and have a look at the 75 if you want Mark as long as im there obviously Not got an awfull lot done really as ive been busy with the pub but ive now got all the parts to re-build the back end (once ive got the box back from BLS) New drilled and grooved discs, pads, re-con calipers, gearbox mounts etc etc, Just need to get a new slave cylinder and finish the prep work on the axle itself so i can get it painted then its ready to go together and get back on the car with any luck!
The front end is a different story, Going to be very expensive so cant afford that right now. Ive got the new windows ready to go in but need to fabricate some sort of mounting bracket and seals for them as im not wanting to rivet them in which is how they are designed to go in place but ive got a few ideas aready

Seems to be a common problem.......I very rarely notice meets coming up unless im physicly looking for them....any way this can be avoided Nige as i think many members are simply not aware of meets coming up?
Only thing i can think of is to PM all lincs members when meets are posted but this can be very time consuming for you and also some might not apreciate being badgered?? Who knows!

I'll be there Nige.
Kev told me of the meet and i gather is keenly generating interest,
and as the race car will be on show, with my exhaust manifold fitted to it, i'll hang around and talk pipes with anyone that cares to.
should be a good meet, BLS are great folk, very welcoming and approachable, everyone should enjoy seeing some nice cars and understanding a little more about their own if needs be.
till then

Are you having a second part as I might be able to make that. Depends on what time I get release from Hull of course.
If you are still in Lincoln I found the Pyewipe was good for our AROC meet.

Hi Mike.
I think it unlikely that Part 2 will go ahead but this may still change. If it does I'm thinking of a place in Bracebridge Heath. I'll PM my mobile number to you so you can check in.
Just a thought but you do know that the AROC members are also welcome to come along.
Heard good reports about the Pyewipe and I'll organize a Meet there next Spring when we can enjoy the views in daylight ! Perhaps we could make it a joint venture like we always said we would do one day.
Nige.

Mike has raised a valid point. I was thinking that in the few Meets where I have organized a " follow on " to the main Meet there hasn't been much interest.
So, for this one, do you want to go to a Pub after BLS ? ( Probably one in Bracebridge Heath. )
Answers ASAP please.
