Got Her Sorted
No great drama but got the stat done on the 156 now so with that, the sump and the fog light done it really does feel like its about right now thankfully. I knew that when we got the car for less than trade in price (according to parkers) then there would be a few teething problems but thats part of the fun. It feels a little more sprightly now and hopefully will be better on fuel now
Si

Good to see your getting it right
As for the badge i tried to do things properly when changing mine however i soon resorted to Nige's idea of drilling a hole in the middle and prizing it off

 naughty
take the grille off the bonnet with the 2 or 3 10mm spanner sized bolt & it's really easy to do it properly you then also get to fasten the new one on correctly with the 2 reatianing clips behind it as well as the self adhesive strip
did also check my rear boot badge aaron, and it does turn like the saloon ones do to reveal a key hole. never tried it before & probably never would have if you hadn't mentioned it

to change the bonnet badge.. joe's way... all you need is 1 bottle of red wine, a hammer and chisel to tap the persistant dodgy screw off and a pair of mole grips! .. the last being for when you bend the metal plate that holds said badge back into place ..! it worked and looks the muts nuts !

Honestly the" drill and pull " method works fine on a GTV, can't say about 'owt else. You still use the two pins and locating holes, these are not affected. Just pull the old badge off, clean up the mount with Meths or similar, apply Evostik to both surfaces and hey presto !
Only downside is that you can't really keep the old badge as a keepsake - looks even more pants after this !
PS. It's not a Nige original idea, think it came of Jamie Porters site or somewhere similar....
Still working up the courage to have a go at the rear one, and saving the pennies to buy one !

You can always nip round to a mates and " borrow " some of his...........
I have plenty now, the excess of the " borrowed " glue I stuff back into a tube that I keep especially for this, a bit fiddly but still..............
