Italian car services...

Seemed good on the phone, £235 for a full belt change.

Any experience of them? At that price i'd take the car in to get stuff like that done as buying the full kit is £130+.

Is that a price for belts, pulleys, tensioners and variators?
Good, if so.

Personally I think that seems a bit too cheap. Mine was more like £400. As bobda says is that for all belts, etc?? Worth double checking with them.

But if they say it's all included then go for it, it's a great price

I personally don't know them but have heard good reports and nothing bad about them.

As above though, make sure that is for belts, tensioners and anything else, it seems very cheap.

I'm guessing you have a TS, if so you may also consider changing the Balance Belt, Aux Belt, Variator and maybe Water Pump. Don't skimp on this job, saving a few quid now may cost you dearly in the longer term.

Good luck.

If you look on their website they want £587 for 2.0l fiat and i dont think the fiat any more difficult than an Alfa i would just check like everyone said that its all the belts and tensioners.Lets us know how you get on if you do go with it as i will want mine doing early next year.

It's not including the water pump and the aux belt but still a good price me thinks.

the 2.0 fiat is the 5 cylinder 20v engine, a very much more difficult car to do as the extra cylinder means the cam-belt is up against the chassis leg. used to be the case that the engine had to be taken out but now places have developed the knack of getting it done in situ

would agree though on making sure you have all the parts covered, although BLS can do the cambelt, tensioner & idler bearing for £243.80 inc fitting & VAT so probably an accurate quote. (anyone else read the flyers from saturday )
depends which engine you have though, if it's the 2.0 then the balance belt etc should really be changed at the same time. if left on then they have a habit of wrapping themselves around the cam-belt when they break, which doesn't do the engine any good
BLS quote £72.45 inc VAT for the balance shaft belt & tensioner, no extra labour charge
they also recomend changing the auxiliary belt & tensioner at £54 inc VAT, again with no extra for labour

don't think that's at all bad, and if i get a petrol sportwagon instead of a diesel one then tom & phil we be getting that job done for me, told them as much tonight
very impressed with them
