For the November Meet we are off to see Tom and Phil at BLS, Independent Alfa Specialists in Lincoln ( Part 1 ), followed by an evening in The Star And Garter in Metheringham Village. ( Part 2 )

PART 1 OF THIS MEET


Date :- Saturday, 21st November.
Time :- 14 00
Place :- BLS Automotive, Unit 1, Great Northern Way, Great Northern Terrace, Lincoln. LN5 8XF. Telephone : 01522 531 529

Tom and Phil at BLS have kindly agreed to have us on this Saturday afternoon. They will show and tell us how they Race Prep cars ( this depends on what’s in the garage at the time ), show us Alfadiag and check your car on this if you wish and will also talk about any specific issues you may have with your car. I suspect that there will be a lot more on offer so it’s going to be an Alfa afternoon ! Tom and Phil are also providing light refreshments for us all. Please remember that this is a sort of Open Day and don’t expect a free Cambelt change whilst you wait !

For those of you who may not have been to BLS before the garage is just a short walk from Lincoln City Centre which has good shopping facilities so maybe whilst we are talking about oily bits the ladies may wish to test your Credit Cards in Lincoln ???? !!!!! I realize that many ladies will also be interested in hearing words of wisdom from Tom and Phil, just put the last bit in in case any of you need an excuse to come, this might just tip the balance !

Afterwards, your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to go along to the next bit of this Event which is drinks and food. If you wish you can skip the BLS part of the day ( shame but you can if you must ) and meet us here :-

PART 2 OF THIS MEET


Date :- Saturday, 21st November.
Time :- 17 00 ish
Place :- Star & Garter, Princes St, Metheringham, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, LN4 3BX. Telephone : 01526 320 317

Afraid I can’t be any more specific about the timing for Part 2, this does depend on how long the BLS bit goes on for, could be either a little earlier or a little later. What is certain is that we will get there some time ! This is a nice looking Village pub and first impressions are very good. I was made very welcome and I think that Butch and Maggie, the Licensees, will be happy to see us. He has offered to cordon off a portion of the large car park just for us if we want to and has also said that a private room may be available to us if we want. I personally wouldn’t want to do this, prefer to stay in the main areas and join in. Post your thoughts on this. Meals and Bar Meals are available, no booking required so all you have to do is COME AND ENJOY YOURSELVES ! B & B is also offered so if you do wish to stay overnight you can. You must book this though so if you do want to stay overnight it’s up to you to arrange this.

I would really like to see a good turn out for this one as Tom and Phil have given up their Saturday afternoon for us and it would be a real shame if only half a dozen of us showed up. So please do make an effort to attend, we would all like to see as many fellow AO ers as we can.

If you are new to the meets don’t be shy, just come along and join in. You needn’t come alone, bring wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend or even granny, everyone is very welcome. The conversations are wide ranging so you don’t have to be a car nut to enjoy the meet.

Post #1 has pics and Maps to help anyone who may feel directionally challenged and, like me, too tight to buy a SatNav !

Please RSVP and indicate if you are coming to both or just one of the Venues, I MUST have an idea of numbers for this one so please let me know in your RSVP. Even if you can’t make it at all just respond with “ NO “, this way I can gauge how many have at least considered this Event. If you have any queries or questions Post on here or PM me. I’m looking forward, as always, to this Meet so do come along if you can.

Will be at BLS for certain,maybe the pub aswell.Personally i would rather not be in a separate room ,unless the Pub gets crowded and we can't hear our own waffling.(speaking purely for myself,Nige ).

Your fault then ! Just 'phoned the exhaust place and can't get it done until Monday, sod it, another week of not going very far although I will have to limp gingerly to Tesco. Either that or starve.

Just spoke to Tom at BLS and I have an update on the format of this visit.

There will be a bit of general Alfa talk, Engine bits on display, an Alfadiag session, various cars ( certainly including mine ! ) going up on the lift when Tom & Phil will point out what to look out for and a general familiarization of the mucky bits !

Oh, and especially for Aaron, a 75 Turbo race car................. Will this give him any ideas ?

Errr, I think I have to !

Getting conflicting info re the Speedo Sensor, Tom is 99% certain it's on the Offside, others seem to think it's on the N/S so I really need to have a good look under there.

Oh what fun ! , but I'm happy. Or should that be mad ?

BLS is a fairly convenient place to park for free and a ten minute stroll will have you in the City Centre. Why not join us there initially, ( I'll be there way before the official start time ) have just a few minutes and then go off to exercise the credit cards ?! Just a thought for you.

Hope your back is up to it, sounds like you may have some heavy bags to carry back to the car !

Its showing it at the front of the gearbox just behind the clutch. You can borrow the manual if you like?

So, for final confirmation of positions I'll be looking at the Near ( passenger ) side of the car then ?
