OK everyone here is my proposal for the August Evening Meet. We’re off into the Wolds !
The venue will be the Royal Oak in Little Cawthorpe, nr Louth. Drove up for a look and a chat, more on this later if we go ahead. Looks nice and has a big Beer Garden so if we are lucky with the weather again it will be nice to go Al Fresco, whoever he is ! Nice inside space, plenty of car parking and good selection of food and drink too. Will post up “sample “ menus in the Event Thread, assuming we get that far ! Quite posh, as it should be for us lot !
Oh yes, it has a free underbody car wash thrown in……..
Looks like there is an alternative route to avoid this if it puts you off but it’s not a problem, I went through it twice this morning.
Chose this location as it will be about the same distance for most of those that I hope will come along. ( But really hope that we get some surprise attendees along ! ) If you are new to the meets don’t be shy and just come along, we don’t bite, just drool a bit !
The conversations are wide ranging so you don’t have to be a car nut to enjoy the meet.
The Bank Holiday makes it a little difficult for me to just set the date as I’m sure that a lot of you will have other plans for the Holiday.
So the dates, either :-
Thursday, 20th August, full week before Bank Holiday.
Thursday, 27th August, week immediately preceding the Bank Holiday.
Thursday, 3rd September, week after the Bank Holiday.
My preferred dates are either 20th or 27th but I’m not worried about any of the dates really, will be along whatever.
Start time of 1900, gives people who have to work a bit more time to get sorted. Of course you can arrive earlier, as I probably will, or a bit later, no problems. Expect the meet to last as long as you want it to, no shame if you have to leave a bit earlier than most or you can stay until they chuck us out, no pressure, let’s be free and easy ! Be
Have a look at the link, decide what seems to be the best date and indicate your preference and interest on here. Unusually for me I’ll be democratic and go with the date that gets the most votes !
If you don’t like the idea at all then post here too, I wont be offended, too thick skinned for that !
I want to Post this as an Event by next Monday at the LATEST even if there are only a few people indicating interest ‘cos once it’s “ official “ people can “ book “ this night out with confidence that they won’t be sitting alone in a strange pub !
