This is the 1st time i have posted on this, i have read a few of you comments etc when i have been having a little probs with my car (147 1.6 2003 lusso?) sory about the spelling :-) very helpful as my petrol car sounds like a dev :-) i have only owned her for a about 3 months now and loving every moment apart from the hole in my wallet :-)

i look forward to using and helping out as much as i can with any probs.

Welcome.. the sound you mention suggests to be your variator has began to die. Gives a nice diesel noise on startup? Then goes away after a bit????

thanks everyone, for the warm welcome, so whats this variator thing then and how easy is it to change or does it not matter if its changed or not?

I have a Black 147 lussio? with red leather inside nice and sexy :-) ill try and put a pics on the site as soon as i work out how to do it.
