My name is Mark and I have joined the forum today!
I have a 1995 LHD black spider V6 12V that I have owned for about 8 years now and has been gradually modified over the years.
I am however reaching a crossroads in ownership - I cannot bear to part with her but she is now nearing 150,000 KMS and am looking to improve the performance from its original 192BHP engine (which is more like 175 now I guess) but keeping reliability/tractability etc. whilst not spending silly money as the money pit is not bottomless!
Thoughts include replacing the engine & gearbox with a GTA or similar unit, adding an aftermarket Low Pressure Turbo, rebuild the existing engine and add the turbo from a 2.0 Turbo or do the cams, CDA and remap route as the engine is a FSH unit that runs well (although is a bit tappety).
Maybe a Q2 diff could be added to the replacement/reconditioned box too?
Car already has a full custom Quad Stainless exhaust, Autodelta filter, squadra chip to the engine. Tarox drilled/vented discs, ride height adjustable FK coil over suspension, strut brace, Autodelta front spoiler & skirts, customer retrimmed interior, 18" Zender Sienna's etc.
Anyway, Not sure what is possible with the existing 12V engine or to go to a 24V - thoughts/experiences welcome.
I don't want the car to turn into an undriveable lump but would like to push up the performance to something like 250 to 275 BHP reliably and improve the refinement of the engine.
