Hi Guys! Im back to Alfa!!
Hello all my name is Kirk! Proud Owner of a beautiful Alfa GT Cloverleaf (2008), A few years ago I had a GT until someone decided to park a car in the boot and destroyed it, for some stupid reason I ended up with a 3 series BMW and regretted every second of it, UNTIL NOW!! I sold the BM and got myself a rosso red Cloverleaf GT (170BHP model, with Sport button ooohhh) and am grinning ear to ear once again!
Currently owned for 2 days and have already had a bit of work done by the garage selling it to me. They changed break discs, changed upper and lower turbo hoses to silicone (in red as was a nice touch, the rubber ones felt very weak), changed failed clutch master cylinder (failed 30mins after buying car!!!), changed glow plugs, changed front lower wishbone (NS), had powerflex ARB bushes installed, changed ARB drop links, new tyre, cleaned EGR.
They did all of this for me for free (i supplied some of the parts) which was very nice I thought.
A couple of issues left to tackle, engine start can sometime struggle a small bit (2-3 seconds to turn over) I'm think maybe replace MAF? (suggestions welcome) and fix non working bose system, have had the multimeter all over it and all wiring seems ok to amp (power, remote is ok, speakers resistance correct etc) no sound coming out but can get some pops from each speaker and sub when using multimeter on head unit outputs (from hu end) so think amp is working and hu is duff (have ordered a new one from eBay) will need to get a code.
Despite all of Alfas "quirks" I love them and believe that they are worth the effort to keep going, no other car marque gives me as much pleasure and I love the satisfaction of making an Alfa run (and look) the best it possibly can.
Living in Eastbourne so if any other Alfa fans close by come and say hi :-)
