Brera Q4 3.2

Newby in New Zealand

Hi there -

Just acquired a 2007 Brera Q4. It's actually for my wife, but given that I'll be the one taking responsibility for its upkeep, I nominate myself the "Alfa Owner". We had never before seen a Brera until one day back in 2007 when we visited the local Alfa dealer, considering buying a 147 - we ended up buying her a Fiat Bravo, but that's another story... In the showroom they had a new Brera in black, which looked stunning, however we weren't in the market for a $90K car, but my wife never forgot it... Roll forward 4 years, and the Bravo was traded on a new Giulietta - nice car, but the subject of the Brera kept coming up. Roll forward another 4 years to late last year when we were out for dinner one evening and I raised the subject of updating her car - that was when she told me that she wanted a Brera, and was not interested in anything else, would otherwise just keep the Giulietta. So I said I would find her one - and I did; a one-driver-from-new, low kms Q4 in Grigio Touring. The car was at the other end of the country (Invercargill - we live in Auckland), so after a long phone conversation with the seller I took a punt and bought it unseen, and had it brought up on a transporter. Today I have had it into local Italian car specialists who have given it a thorough inspection and have declared it a very nice car (phew!). I should add that while the wife has been the main driving force behind acquiring the car, I'm totally in support - I reckon it has to be one of the most beautiful cars ever made. I have seen a few posts on the AO site from other Kiwi Brera owners, and would be keen to hear of their experiences of ownership. I'd particularly like to know just where the USB port is for updating the Blue&Me software - but I guess that's a subject for a separate post...

Cheers - Davo1805
