Hi everyone, my name is Giles and i'm an organic farmer in Cornwall!
I currently drive a 156 sportwagon 2.4jtd veloce 10v. Its the first Alfa I have owned and I love it. Have always been into Italian cars though. Had a couple Lancias in the past, one being an integrale.
I am currently looking to sell my car as I want something smaller, possibly a 147 1.9 jtdm 16v lusso (with leather!).
Have not driven one yet, can anyone tell me what they are like and how it might compare to my sportwagon? Mine has been re-mapped by angel tuning and should be nearly 200bhp, It is amazingly fast for a diesel estate! and still returns an average 42mpg, but Angel tell me that they can re-map the 1.9jtdm 16v to similar power, given that is is lighter and no doubt, more nimble it could be alot of fun!!!!!

Re: hello!

Welcome to AO Mr Giles!!

Keep the SW - surely much more "practical" for the farm??

200bhp is at the "top-end" for the 1.9 JTD, if in isolation. Mine has an ECU hike of ~35-40bhp (from the std 150) which seems to hit the sweet-spot between increased "grunt" and amazingly even better fuel economy (I average + 50mpg ). Do some searches in the technical lounges, but I think you'll need to think about either addition tech-upgrading and/or likely hike in maintenance costs due to increased wear-and-tear for this kind of performance.

Good Luck mate!
